That’s gonna be zero stars from me. Good luck sleeping on the cheap spring mattress from 1985. Wifi doesn’t reach room. Office unwilling to assist or cancel second night well ahead of what would be check-in time for second night. Going to pay for the empty room tonight, just to get away.

Well, I'm torn as to what to say. Pros and cons here. Really. The antiseptic smell of the room caused us to open all doors and windows for an hour upon arrival. But there was a nice little porch area out the door with a chair to sit and relax, a nice plus. Each night i sat out there for more than an hour. The little coffee maker made excellent morning coffee. The beds were firm and the pillows were nice. But the blanket was as comforting as a paper towel. The sink in the bathroom barely drained, and the shower is sized to give the elderly and large framed persons a morning challenge. ( Im elderly). But the towels were great, thick and big enough, not the underwear sized towels some places call bath towels. And forget having your room cleaned. That doesn't happen. Having said all that I might stay at this little dive of a motor hotel again. The pros were really pros. The cons were livable. But best of all, as we were visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, it's 5 miles north of town on the lake. Easy drive to and from town. So if you choose it, from this review you'll know exactly what you're getting.

Hickory Grove is a great place to stay. It's quiet and not far from town. Staff is very helpful. The rooms are clean and neat. Shower space is limited, but the other positives make it easy to overlook this feature. Lake views are tranquil.

Nice room for the price! It's a motel, not a hotel, so be realistic. Fran at the front desk was a dream. Our room was clean and nicely decorated. Be prepared for little to no cell service! Free WiFi is available but it was low strength and dropped out frequently. View of beautiful Lake Otsego from our window. Would definitely stay again. Very good value.

We had a one night stay here. The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed -microwave, fridge, coffee maker and cable TV. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom, though small, was clean and had everything necessary. It's a great place, would definitely stay there again.
