The Railroad Inn consistently receives positive reviews, praised for its convenient location, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms, particularly highlighting its free snacks and beverages. However, some guests have experienced issues with temperature control and noise levels in certain rooms.
My 9 year old son was doing research for our trip to Cooperstown and found this lovely place. He should be our trip booker for everything moving forward. Our group of 9 had a blast at The Railroad Inn. From the different configurations of the rooms (we did the Queen/King Suite for a few of us) to the service team it was excellent. I'd stay there 10 out of 10 times if going up to Cooperstown - wonderful location.
The Railroad Inn was absolutely amazing. Wonderful rooms, great location and very friendly. I stayed January 24 & 25 to be close to my work and absolutely fell in love with the place. Would definitely stay again. Thank you for a fantastic stay.
I cannot say enough nice things about this little hotel. It is so cute! Updates are modern. Decor is stylish. The bed was SO comfortable. Fluffy crisp linens and the best pillows. Everything was sparkling clean. Absolutely perfect. Would recommend to anyone staying in Cooperstown.
Absolutely loved my stay beautiful room with spiral staircase a master suite upstairs with big bed , bunk beds, tv , refrigerator, bathroom downstairs queen bed with bathroom, tv and refrigerator. Twenty four hour coffee, snacks and drinks. My two friends and I stayed because we were having a snow storm and we wanted to make sure we could get to work. Second time I have stayed there for the same reason. Would highly recommend. Lady that checked us in was wonderful.
Rooms are great- large enough and very clean! Great location! Friendly staff! Love that they have snacks and beverages available 24/7. A cup of tea at night was great! Railroad and baseball decor.
We had a great stay here. The room was exactly as advertised and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't walk anywhere because it was super cold but it's definitely near to town and easy to get to. The continental breakfast was very nice as well. We will go back for sure!
We stayed at the Railroad Inn for two nights. The staff were pleasant, however our stay was significantly impacted by issues with air circulation and temperature control. We booked a large two-story suite. The upstairs level has no windows, and the single window downstairs was frozen shut and could not be opened. Unfortunately, the AC units on both levels only produced heat—there was no cool air or even basic air circulation. The room became extremely hot and uncomfortable, to the point where it was difficult to breathe. None of our children slept well either night. Fans were brought to the room on the second night, but they did not make a meaningful difference. The room itself was generally clean, though the floors did not appear to have been vacuumed. The beds were comfortable. We were also disappointed to learn that housekeeping is not provided daily unless requested—this was not clearly communicated. There was, however, an envelope left for tipping housekeeping. Coming back to an unserviced room after paying over $250 per night (during the off-season in Cooperstown) was frustrating. Due to these issues, we are unlikely to return.
Lovely chic inn. The staff have been fantastic from booking to check out. The rooms are nicely furnished and clean; I appreciate the Beekman products. The location puts you into downtown Cooperstown in about a 5-10 minute walk. Their lobby has the convenience I needed stocked with snacks and water provided for free. Thank you for this touch! First time staying here, would definitely come again and recommend.
Great experience! I would return to the inn and recommend to others. The room was comfortable and very clean. The staff was polite, friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided was enough to get on the road! Plus, in the middle night, access to a cold bottle of water was convenient by just walking down to the lobby (a lot easier then going out in the cold to the car!) Close by to the town which was also a big plus.
Perfect hotel for a trip to Cooperstown and the surrounding areas. Located steps from the local newspaper office and the Cooperstown Distillery. I enjoyed buying the local newspaper and the free spirits tasting at the distillery. Most rest of the town is in leisurely walking distance from the hotel. The room was nicely designed and very clean. The lobby has coffee, tea, and snacks available 24 hours a day, for free. The staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.
