The Railroad Inn consistently receives positive reviews, praised for its friendly staff, convenient location, and comfortable, well-maintained rooms. Guests appreciate the historic charm, modern updates, and added perks like complimentary snacks and beverages. While some have noted minor temperature control issues, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive.
World class service. My wife and I stayed here in late April on a work trip and we had the best time. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The only issue we had was the room being a bit warm when we arrived due to the weather but they immediately got us a fan and checked in with us to assure we were okay. The snacks/coffee are perfect for when we needed to get working early. There is tons of outdoor seating so we were able to enjoy many evenings out there. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.
I have been staying at the Railroad Inn in Cooperstown for over a decade when traveling with my high school baseball team to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame and play at Doubleday Field. Every year, our experience has been consistently excellent. James at the front desk is outstanding. He is always quick to respond, professional, and goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly for our group. Coordinating travel for a team can be a challenge, and James always makes the process easy. The inn itself is fully renovated with clean, modern rooms that are comfortable and well maintained. The suites are especially awesome, offering spacious two-floor living that works really well for groups, families, or longer stays. The complimentary continental breakfast is also a great perk for our team before our game. Whether you are traveling as a family, with a group, or just passing through Cooperstown, the Railroad Inn is a perfect place to stay. I highly recommend the Railroad Inn and cannot say enough good things about James and the entire staff.
We absolutely loved this Inn and our stay in Cooperstown! It was conveniently located to downtown as well as restaurants, shops and of course the NBHOF. The room was so comfortable with plenty of room. The front desk folks were friendly and helpful and the outdoor tables/chairs a lovely place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
We stayed this past weekend for two nights on a little trip away, just my husband and I for his birthday. Loved the historic building turned into a beautiful hotel with clean and modernized rooms! We loved the little seating area by the small stream located on the property. It was perfect to drink a cup of coffee from the lobby and just relax outside. The service was amazing too! The clerk that checked us in on Friday night, Arissa, was literally the nicest person on the planet! She was kind, funny, and so welcoming, even offered us awesome suggestions for places to eat and breweries in the area to check out, once she found out we are craft beer people. Arissa literally kicked off our trip in the best possible way, that girl is going places in life! Thank you for helping make our weekend away so memorable!
My 9 year old son was doing research for our trip to Cooperstown and found this lovely place. He should be our trip booker for everything moving forward. Our group of 9 had a blast at The Railroad Inn. From the different configurations of the rooms (we did the Queen/King Suite for a few of us) to the service team it was excellent. I'd stay there 10 out of 10 times if going up to Cooperstown - wonderful location.
The Railroad Inn was absolutely amazing. Wonderful rooms, great location and very friendly. I stayed January 24 & 25 to be close to my work and absolutely fell in love with the place. Would definitely stay again. Thank you for a fantastic stay.
I cannot say enough nice things about this little hotel. It is so cute! Updates are modern. Decor is stylish. The bed was SO comfortable. Fluffy crisp linens and the best pillows. Everything was sparkling clean. Absolutely perfect. Would recommend to anyone staying in Cooperstown.
Absolutely loved my stay beautiful room with spiral staircase a master suite upstairs with big bed , bunk beds, tv , refrigerator, bathroom downstairs queen bed with bathroom, tv and refrigerator. Twenty four hour coffee, snacks and drinks. My two friends and I stayed because we were having a snow storm and we wanted to make sure we could get to work. Second time I have stayed there for the same reason. Would highly recommend. Lady that checked us in was wonderful.
Rooms are great- large enough and very clean! Great location! Friendly staff! Love that they have snacks and beverages available 24/7. A cup of tea at night was great! Railroad and baseball decor.
We had a great stay here. The room was exactly as advertised and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't walk anywhere because it was super cold but it's definitely near to town and easy to get to. The continental breakfast was very nice as well. We will go back for sure!
